Randy McCurdy is a romantic realist salon landscape painter and is best known for his calming and pastoral landscape paintings of the rural central Pennsylvania wetland regions of Dauphin, Lebanon, Schuylkill and Berks counties. His well-designed compositions and unique mutted oil color palette lend to the romantic as well as to the poetic nature of his art.
He is studied in the traditions of the Hudson and Brandywine River schools of American painters and has dedicated a life time to achieve their disciplines and levels of craftsmenship in fine art painting. Since 2007 Randy has been Nationally recognized, through American auction houses, as an American tonalist painter.
In 2010 Randy provided fine art representation to the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage for their statewide promotional endeavors.
Randy attributes his art education to his brother, the late Allen McCurdy (American painter and fine art educator of Kutztown University and the New Hope Pennsylvania colony of painters).
"Painting is easy for those who don't know how but very difficult for those who do"
